Coraline nodded happily,'Yeah! I read so many stories when I was younger. About HO-oh, Lugia, Arceus!" coraline seemed to drone on with excitement filling her voice. She seemed so childish the way that she spoke. Although, who wouldn't want to see a pokemon, as Train had said? If Cora had the chance to catch one, oh, would her dreams really be coming true then!
"Vulpix pix vul," Koko stated. <Don't let it be Lugia> Indeed, the vulpix would be terrified of something that was stated as the Guardian of the Sea. She'd be even more frightened of a Kyogre. Oh, the horror!

Train nodded, thinking about what the other trainer had said. "A Ho-oh, yeah, that would be amazing," he murmured, thinking about it. "Though, I would love to meet a Celebi one day." The young Johto native had always heard stories about the time traveling guardian of the forest, and was fascinated with them. If he could only just see one, that would be enough for him. Yet, the notion of a Celebi choosing to partner with him fascinated him, and it didn't seem like it would let go any time soon. A small sigh escaped him as he looked around, before turning back to Cora. "Hey, Cora, what region are you from?" he asked, curious.
Eri smiled at the Vulpix's words, but said little in response. She was nowhere close to comfortable with being around it, even though she knew, intellectually, it wasn't the one that destroyed her home, and her family. Perhaps, with time, she could learn to trust it.

As the duo were talking, a couple of pokemon were playing nearby. One was a Budew and her playmate was a Ralts. As the two were playing around, they noticed the trainers and their pokemon. They scurried over, deciding they now had to be involved in their game. Their game was rough housing around, so a pokemon battle would be fun for these two. Train watched as a new set of Pokémon appeared, and moved towards them. Seeing them, he whistled softly. "A Budew and a Ralts. Both are pretty good fully evolved," he murmured to himself, before turning to Cora. "You said you wanted a grass type, so I'm going to try and catch that Ralts. Gallade is one of the few fighting types I really like, so this would be a good opportunity for me." Without waiting for a response, he turned to the young psychic type, considering the best strategy to use here. While Eri knew Assurance, a dark type move, he didn't want to risk knocking the smaller Pokémon out. "Eri!"
The Skarmory dove from where she flew, coming to a hover directly in front of her trainer. "I could try Assurance once, or I could just stick with Peck," she told him, black eyes calm. "I will leave it up to you." Train nodded at her words, knowing what he wanted her to do.
"Eri, Peck!" he called, as his partner screeched in response, flying quickly at the small psychic type in front of her. Her attack landed directly on the small Pokémon's helmeted head, before she backed away to be prepared for the next attack.

Cora was about to reply to Train when she saw the two, adorable, pokemon. Her eyes shown like stars as she spotted them. Oh! So Adorable! A budew and a ralts! How cute! Oh my oh my! She absolutely HAD to catch one! Absolutely! She looked down at her vulpix eagerly.
Koko nodded in understanding and leapt from her trainer's arms once more, preparing to combat the budew.
"Koko, Use Ember!" Coraline commanded happily.
Koko shot a burst of fire towards the Budew.

The psychic type attack was easily resisted by the part steel type Eri, but the secondary effect, the one that the attack was named for, set in over her. Train was able to see it happen, and it worried him. He knew that the confusion status could cause a great deal of damage, if the affected Pokémon was unlucky enough to accidentally attack itself. He could only hope that they got lucky. Looking at the Ralts, then at Eri, he sighed. "Eri, Peck again!"
The Skarmory flew at the small Psychic type, but her attack completely missed, the young steel type accidentally harming herself by scratching her wing with an errant Peck! Train winced, worried about his partner. Hopefully, this condition would wear off soon.

The Budew let out a startled "Dew!" as the fire hit it, before reacting quickly. Locking on the other Pokémon, it sent out its own attack, Absorb! Green orbs of energy flew out at the other Pokémon in an attempt to heal the young grass type. While they connected with the target, is seemed to do no damage to her opponent.

Eri let out a screech as the Confusion hit her again, causing her to shake her head heavily. Panting, she looked at the small Psychic Pokémon, then at her trainer. "Train?" she asked, seeing what he wanted to do. If he asked, she would attack again, she had enough strength still. "What do you want me to do?"
"You still feel up to fighting, lovely?" her trainer asked, worried about her. She seemed strong enough still, but Train was worried about his partner. If she felt up to it, then he'd keep the fight going. If not, he might try to pull out of the fight. In response to Train's question, Eri spread her wings, letting out a strong "Skar!" in response, letting him know she was up to it. "All right then. Peck again!"
Eri flew at the young Ralts once again, eyes sharp. This time, the attack connected, causing the Ralts to recoil. Eri grinned, though she knew she was still confused.

"YOSH! I got a budew! Now we can grab a water type, too!" Coraline happily said. At this, Koko shuddered and looked at Cora in disdain.

The ralts gave a small whimper in pain, but soon got over it. So! This was getting even rougher, huh? The Ralts would try harder then! Once more, confusion was used at Eri!

Eri let out a soft grunt as the attack hit, shaking her head to clear it. Deciding to not wait for her trainer's order, she attacked of her own accord, using Assurance instead of Peck, annoyed with her opponent. The attack was a success, and both trainer and Pokémon grinned.
"Great job girl!" Train called, before pulling one of his Pokéballs off his belt, before throwing it overhand at the young psychic type, hoping to catch it.

Coraline was cheering on her Vulpix as she had caught Budew. Then, as she saw the next pair, her eyes focused on the mareep,"..... .... ... You're...MINE!" she cried. An electric type, that would be even better! And this mareep...it was so CUTE! Man, Coraline was getting lucky with these pokemon, she grinned and looked at vulpix," Are you ready?" she asked quietly.
"...Vulpix," Koko nodded with a small pant. All of these battles were tiring the poor pokemon out.
"Alright, Use Ember!" Coraline commanded.
Koko shot out a flare of fire towards the Mareep who was ready to play.

Train carefully put the Ralts's Pokéball on his belt, grinning down at it. "Welcome to the team, Blade," he murmured, already knowing he planned to evolve him into a Gallade in the future. Considering what his team was currently comprised of, Train knew he was off to a good start. He had a dual steel/flying type in Eri, a dual grass/poison type in Kerin, and now a Psychic type in Blade. Eventually, once he was a Gallade, that would be dual psychic/fighting. So far his team was made up of Pokémon that were or would by dual-typed, but he didn't mind. It gave him more strategies to create, more situations he could work through.
Above him, Eri shrieked her victory, the sun glinting off her feathers brightly. She grinned, twisting her head to look at her trainer, before glancing over at the approaching Taillow. A new challenger, huh? Well, she still felt strong enough from her last battle to go again, easily. Looking down at her trainer, she called down, "Well?" Her trainer grinned, before calling out an attack.
"Assurance, Eri!" The Pokémon nodded in response, going in for the attack. Her attack connected solidly, hitting the other Pokémon with ease.

Eri shook off the hit, but waited, silently, to see what her trainer planned next. They worked well together, she had found, and couldn't wait to continue this fight. "Eri, Peck!" The shouted command caused her to fly at the other bird once more, aiming her beak at its left wing. The steel-type's strong beak slammed into the smaller Pokémon, knocking it back sharply.
Train, seeing the Taillow was weakening, pulled out an empty Pokéball, watching the small bird carefully. Once Eri's attack hit, he threw it sharply, excited to add the Taillow to his team.
