Coraline marched along the route, scouring the place for anyone or anything to battle. Her vulpix was in her arms, also glancing around.
"Darn, nothing yet," Coraline muttered,"maybe we're making too much noise?" Her vulpix simply laid its head on her trainer's arms.
"We should slow down and look for pokemon to get you stronger!" Coraline announced, being unreasonably loud for how close her pokemon was to her.

As Train entered Route 801, he heard what sounded like another human being almost obnoxiously loud. Looking around, he finally realized where it came from, sighed. Well, maybe joining with the other trainer could help him out. Eri let out a low laugh from above him, and he turned his head up, looking at the large steel and flying type that he had been lucky enough to get as a starter. "Hey, Eri?" he asked softly, drawing her attention. "How far does that other trainer seem to be from us?" In response, his partner flew higher, easily gaining altitude before moving to spot the other trainer. Seeing the young female and her trainer, she froze, a low whimper coming from her throat. She dropped suddenly, startling her trainer. "Eri!" Train shouted in horror, running to where she was falling. No! No, no, no, no, no!' he thought, trying to get to his Pokémon. "Eri, no! Open your wings and fly love, please!"
Eri was terrified, and her fear had caused her to freeze. While she was mostly afraid of fire, fire types could, at times, be just as terrifying to her. Seeing the other trainer's Vulpix had startled her, as she was unprepared to see it. Her eyes closed as she fell, headed straight for a crash landing. However, her trainer's scared voice cut through her fear, and her wings opened suddenly, catching the air and pulling her to a stop just shy of crashing into the ground. Panting, she landed, trying not to panic. Train ran up, and looked her over. "T, Train?" she whispered as he set a hand on her shoulder. When the pressure on her shoulder increased, she turned, resting her head carefully against his chest. "S, sorry," came the soft apology.
"Hush, lovely. It's fine," he replied, gently running his hands over her. "It's okay, you're fine dear one." He stayed like that as slowly the tremors in her body slowed, until she was able to pull away. Smiling, he pressed a gently kiss to the end of her beak. "Let's find that trainer, all right?" She nodded, opening her wings to fly low behind him.

To say the least, seeing a Skarmory in the sky out of no where surprised both Coraline and Koko. Koko hid her face with her tails.
"Woah," Coraline muttered," Where did THAT come from?" She noticed how it suddenly dropped out of the sky,"....Hey, let's go see if it's okay, alright?"
Koko uncovered an eye and nodded shyly, then hid it's face again.
"Alright, We're-a-coming!" Cora chirped as she started to run towards where she saw the skarmory descend, not knowing that the trainer and the skarmory were headed towards her.

Train continued walking down the path, Eri close behind him, looking around. He saw no reason to hurry, but his keen eyes took in what was around him. The trainer could feel Eri's presence at his back, and smiled softly. Pausing slightly, his partner landed beside him, curious as to what was going on. "What happened, Eri? You don't have to say anything if you don't want to," he asked her. When she had frozen, he had been terrified, and worried about her. Train wanted to know why she had frozen, so he could watch for it happening in the future.
Eri paused briefly, before laying her head on his shoulder. "Before I arrived at the lab... There was a large fire that destroyed my family's nest. I couldn't move, I couldn't escape. If the Professor hadn't intervened, I might have died there. Ever since, fire has terrified me," she murmured, as her trainer ran gentle fingers over her neck. "Usually I'm all right around fire types, but seeing the Vulpix the other trainer has startled me. A, a Ninetales is what originally set the fire."
Train continued the soothing movements of his fingers over her neck, contemplating what she had told him. "It's all right, lovely, you're safe now," he said softly, head bent to be closer to her level. "Anyone would be scared after something like that. I don't blame you, nor will I condemn you for it." He felt her relax under his fingers at his words, before he grinned as a thought came to him. "On another note, we're going to have to see if we can get some sort of leather or something else to make a harness with." At her inquisitive look, he elaborated on the thought. "You're not much shorter than I am, really. You could fly with me on your back with little to no difficulty. The harness would be to protect me, and help distribute my weight a bit more evenly. Only if you're willing, of course."
"I'd love to fly with you, Train. It would be nice to share the skies with you," she told him, before pulling away slightly. "Come on, then." Lifting off again, Eri led her trainer forward, nearly running into the other trainer as she did so. She screeched in shock, back pedaling quickly over her trainer's head to land behind him.
Train was not as fortunate as his starter and managed to crash into the running female, thankfully able to remaining standing when they collided. Being larger than the other trainer helped, as he had more bulk than the younger female. "Ouch. Hey, sorry about that," he said, rubbing the back of his head. "You a new trainer too?"

Coraline fell backwards, losing hold of Koko as she hit the ground.
"I hit a trainer instead," Coraline muttered as she tried to get ahold of her thoughts again.
Koko had now landed infront of Coraline being shy but wanting to make sure her trainer wasn't going to be attacked.
"Eh? Yeah I'm brand new, I take it you are as well!" Coraline declared as she stood up quickly. Her face was smiling still," Why do you ask? Also..did I hear right or was that skarmory talking to you?"
To be honest, Coraline was used to thinking that pokemon talked back. But, this time it felt like the skarmory really did talk, and that she wasn't thinking that it did just to entertain her youthful mind.
Koko stared up at Train and the Skarmory, eyeing them closely.

Train grinned at her as she stood back up, eyes sparkling in humor. She had a fire to her that was definitely intriguing. A quick glance catalogued her at, oh, fourteen at best, putting her firmly in the 'cute younger sibling' range, before he turned back to talking to her. "Just curious, is all," he told her, glancing at her Vulpix. He'd have to make sure that one didn't hurt his partner. Realizing she had asked a question, he replied, started to reply, before Eri broke into the conversation.
"Yes, you heard right, I was speaking with my trainer," she said, moving to stand beside her trainer. She kept a careful eye on the Vulpix as she did, but stood tall at Train's side, yellow eyes surveying the area around them. Train's lips twitched at her words, and he raised a hand, setting it to rest along the crest on top of her head. "I am called Eri."
"And I'm Train. What's your name?" The young male, even as he talked, was scanning the area, looking to see if anything would appear around them. Knowing Eri's fear of fire, he had to consider the best plan of action open to them. They would, eventually, have to face fire types, but he didn't want to force her into trying to take them on. Perhaps if they caught a grass type now, then later on used that Pokémon to catch a water type…

Koko lowered her head and backed away. She hid behind Coraline's legs at the intimidation she got from the two newcomers
"Wow, that's awesome...!" Coraline exclaimed with enthusiasm dribbling in her voice. Her eyes glittered in excitement and admiration. To be honest, she did admire unique pokemon,"Oh, My name's Coraline, Cora for short. Nice to meetcha!" She happily explaied.
Koko continued to shiver behind her trainer's leg. The vulpix glanced a look behind her and saw her shadow,"Vupix!" it yelped. It leaped into Cora's arms.
"Woah! Uh...This is Koko, my vulpix!" Cora said, smiling. She snuggled with the vulpix in order to calm it down.

"She seems to be a bit shy," Train remarked, looking at the small fire type with curiosity. It was definitely a cute thing, even if it could be relatively powerful when it grew into its strengths. His golden eyes sparkled with interest, as he took a look at Coraline. "It is pretty cool that she can talk, isn't it? You have no idea how shocked I was when she started speaking." Eri smirked at his words, remembering that he had reacted with both shock and awe when she had first appeared. "Anyways, want to travel together, at least until we hit Gustella Town?" he asked, running a hand over Eri's crest in a calming gesture, letting her know he was still there, and would not allow anything to happen to her. The steel flying type sighed, watching the area around them in order make sure nothing snuck up on them.
"I'm going to fly up to look around briefly," she murmured to her trainer, who nodded, removing his hand from her crest before taking a few steps away from her in order to give her room to spread her wings. Eri nodded in thanks, before telling him, "I'll stay close, call me if I am needed." Her red wing feathers spread and condensed easily, pulling her rapidly into the air. Hovering maybe ten feet above the trainers' heads, she looked around, ready to react if something attacked.

As the trainer duo were talking, there was some rustling in some nearby bushes. A Bellsprout came running out, looking frantic as it was running in a straight line as if trying to get away from something. "Bell! Bell! Bellsproooouuuut!" it practically screamed as it was running away. Jumping out from the bushes, it was now clear what the Bellsprout was running away from. Poochyena growled low and began chasing the Bellsprout again. However, he stopped after a few feet. He paused and looked at the two trainers before him. He began growling menacingly at both of them, unafraid of anything. The Bellsprout, meanwhile, looked back and forth between the Poochyena and the trainer duo. It was caught in quite an awkward position and didn't know what to do. When the Pokémon came running out, Train watched them carefully, trying to decide what to do. That Bellsprout would be perfect to try and catch, especially since it would be good to use against any water types they might come up against later on. However, he was not going to start a battle against it unless Eri was willing to start a battle as well. Tilting his head up, he let out a loud whistle, before calling out, "Eri!" The Skarmory responded instantly, folding her wings to drop, before flaring them in order to hover. Waiting just above her trainer's shoulder, she waited for a command. "Eri, try to find out what's going on with them?" Train asked.
"Of course," she responded, turning to the Pokémon in front of her. <What are you two doing?> she asked, looking between them carefully. She was curious, but stayed calm, waiting to see how they would respond. The second that they moved to attack, she would react, quickly. She knew her trainer was close behind her, and would help her no matter what happened.
Train smiled softly, glad that his partner was willing to trust him. No matter that happened, he was there to protect his her, and he would happily take on anyone or anything that tried to harm his team. As Eri tried to get the wild Pokémon to respond, he watched Cora carefully, wondering what she would do in response to the Poochyena and Bellsprout that had appeared.

Cora smiled at the idea,"Sure! I'd love to have someone to talk to other than Koko. She's so quiet it feels like I'm talking to myself and stuff!" she said happily
Coraline was scanning the two pokemon that appeared. Finally, some wild encounters! She whooped and hopped up and down in an excited fashion.
"Are you up to a battle, Koko!?" she asked excitedly. The vulpix whimpered, not wanting to fight at the moment.
"Vulpix...," she quietly muttered. The vulpix hid her eyes with her tails.
"Aww....You don't have to if you don't want to, you know. I was just asking to make sure! I'd hate to have you fight a battle you don't want to fight and all. Altough, that poochyena seems vicious. It might attack if we don't do something...Hey Trainster, should we run!?" Coraline asked while stealing a glance at the older trainer.

"Trainster?" he asked with a laughing tone, grinning slightly as he did. "Poochyena are hunters, Cora. They're very tenacious, and won't stop chasing a victim, ever. If we run, it'll follow us until we collapse." Train sighed, biting his lip as he thought about it. "If you had a Pokémon that could carry you, I would say we could possibly outpace it by flying. But, since I doubt you do, considering we both only just started..." He sighed, looking at the pair. "We're going to have to fight." Eri let out a soft hum, letting her trainer know that she would back him up if it came to a fight. "Cora, the Bellsprout is just a victim here. If Koko doesn't want to battle, Eri should be able to hand the Poochyena without much trouble."
"Skar, mory?" <Well, Poochyena?> Eri asked again, trying to get a response out of the small dark type. They needed to figure out what happened to cause the Poochyena to attack, so they knew how to proceed from here.

Cora nodded," She doesn't need to if she doesn't wanna, besides I don't want to feel all mean to that pokemon that tried to get eaten by a poochyena and stuff," she explained.
Koko sighed quietly in relief, but still hid her face in the many tails she had.

"Poooooochyena!" the Poochyena howled out, talking back to Skarmory. Theif! He stole my berry! she proclaimed, looking pointedly at the Bellsprout who was now quivering with fear. One of his twiggy arms that he was trying to hold behind him was, infact, holding an oran berry. But he wasn't giving up the idea he was innocent. "Bell! Bellsprout!" Lies! All lies!
"Pooooooch! Poochyenaaaaaa!"If you'll stand in my way, then I'll take you out first! With that, Poochyena launched itself at the shy Vulpix, who was closest to him, with Tackle.
[RESULT: 3]
The Bellsprout began slowly backing away from the rest of them, hoping no one was still paying attention to the little plant thief.

"The Bellsprout stole the Poochyena's berry," Eri told her trainer calmly, looking back at him. She was not impressed by this information, but would go with it. Watching the pair, she saw the Poochyena attack the Vulpix suddenly, and hissed in annoyance. "Looks like the other one is mine, then, Train," she informed he trainer, who nodded.
"Looks like it. All right then Eri, don't let the Bellsprout escape! Train called out, recalling the time he has spent watching other trainers battle in the past. "Fly behind it and use Peck!" he called out, pointing at the other Pokémon that was slowly attempting to escape.
[RESULT: 7] +1
Eri responded quickly to her trainer's command, not bothering to hesitate. She flew up and around the Bellsprout, landing just behind it. "I don't think so," she growled, before taking her steel beak and slamming it into the grass-type's shoulder.
Eri's Health: 35/35
