The Fun of Luck

[Tane Flight]

Ah, route 801, such a beautiful little area. Pretty grassy areas which home many kinds of beautiful Pokemon, blue skys which held bright fluffy clouds and a bright sun to shine the way. The native Pokemon cries could be herd in every direction as they talked to thier naibors about this and that. Tane was currently laying within the grassy area as he watched the clouds and bird Pokemon fly above. Some would think that the young man was at peace, however...Tane doesn't care for such activities, actually he doesn't like to stay still very long. So why is he some might ask? Tane was not as fine as he looked, he was just trying to suck up the pain. That right, Tane wasn't moving from his spot cause he broke his leg. How? Cause he spotted a lone enraged Rhyhorn, but not without that said Pokemon spotting him as well and gave charge. As Tane was running away from the beast, he tripped and fell, thankfully the Pokemon kepted running without him, however Tane was unlucky that the large Pokemon stepped on him in the process, breaking his leg like a twig.

"Well this sucks..." Tane said annoyed. He had been laying here for a while now. He had sent his Torchic, Zealot or Zea for short to find help or atleast a large stick that could suport him so that he could continue. Not like he needed help, but Tane decided to think for once about the situation. To Tane's dismay however, his Pokemon had yet to return and until she did Tane could not really get far.

Meanwhile, off in the distance, a small torchic walked around annoyed. She wasn't having the best luck finding. There wasn't many trees big enough to have a stick large enough to hold her trainer up as the continued through the path and there didn't seem many people where she was either. To make things even better, the small Pokemon had little to no clue of where she was at the moment. Giving a sigh, the small bird continued her search.

[Virgil]

Virgil walked down the path, his Axew walking beside him on one side and his Treecko walked behind him. He had given the name of Rona to his Axew. He had found that the dragon Pokemon was female. He had given the Treecko, the name of Thorn, since he seemed to act like a thorny plant. The thorns were meant to keep things away and this one didn’t like company too much. Very withdrawn, or at least it seemed to him. He kept both Thorn and Rona away from each other and allowed them to be where they were.

He was going to get them to be friends later on but for now, he just had to have them traveling together with him and out in the open. He looked down as he saw Rona looking around wildly as she hadn’t been here before. He chuckled a little. He was interrupted by Rona crying out, “Axew! Axew! Ew! Ew!” He turned to look back to see Thorn walking back a few feet more to get away from the Axew as she did that cry. He then turned around to look at what the dragon Pokemon was looking at.

This was rather strange. He had found a strange, short orange-feathered bird with a few yellow feathers out on the road ahead of him. What was one of them doing here? He didn’t even know what it was. He pulled out the pokedex and scanned it from where he was. The Pokedex told him that it was a Torchic. He was still puzzled at why it was out here. Did it have a trainer or was it wild? He would find out soon enough. He was getting closer to it after all. Virgil watched as his Axew, in pure excitement, dashed off towards the Torchic.

“Come back, Rona!” he yelled after her. He would have more trouble if this was indeed a wild one. He had no other choice but to run after his Axew. He knew that the Axew was going to try and hug the Torchic if it could.

The Tochic had just about given up trying to find any one or thing, she didn't seem to be the best scout. She glared down at the ground in anger of her own failure, she was too good to mess up this badly. Zea was so annoyed with herself that she did not realize that she was no longer alone. Not to far away from her another Pokemon had spotted her and was charging her way! A call from a trainer had broken the birds stare down with the ground, Zea barely had anytime to register before being glomp-hugged by the other Pokemon. Zea struggled to break out of the hug, but didn't have the best luck. Screeching and trying to claw the Pokemon off of her didn't seem to have much affect from the deathly hug.

Suddenly Zea stopped struggling and realized something, she herd a human's voice! Does this mean that this Pokemon is caught? If so, that means that there's a person near by! Zea looked around a second and sure enough, a trainer was rushing over as he called for his Pokemon to come back. Perfect! Zea dragged the dragon, who was still latched on to her, over to the trainer and looked at him "Tor, Torchic tor tor!" She called out hoping the trainer would understand her dilemma.

Virgil knelt down as the Torchic came over to him, dragging the small dragon along with it, and it spoke to him in its language. He didn’t know exactly what it was saying but first he pried loose Rona from the Torchic. Now, that small task was accomplished. He set the Axew down beside him and told her to stay there. He hoped that the Axew knew what it was saying. No, he was going to be just as stumped by listening to her. He would just have to figure out in a different fashion.

Virgil rubbed his forehead with his hand as he thought about the situation. So, was this Torchic owned by a trainer? Or was it wild? It wouldn’t come up to him if it was wild. Nor would it react the way that it did with Rona. It would have acted a bit more naturally. Then this means that it had an owner. Someone was taking care of it. Where was its trainer then? And what was the problem for it to be away from its trainer? Its trainer might be in danger then or hurt. He wasn’t sure. He had listened to it calling out to him. This was something that he had a better understanding of. He knew how to distinguish how a Pokemon or person sounded than the words or language used.

“Torchic, where is your trainer?” he asked the Pokemon. “Is your trainer in danger? Can you show me where your trainer is?”

Virgil would wait to see if the Torchic did anything or showed him the way to her trainer.

[Tane Flight]

Zea shook her feathers after the trainer took the Axew off of her, the Pokemon ruffled her feathers up while squeezing her to death. She looked back up to the trainer as he asked where her trainer was, good, he understands that something isn't right. "Torchic!" Zea chirped, nodding her head before quickly walking back the way she came, maybe she wasn't that bad a scout after all.

It took a little, but the Torchic managed to find the way back to her trainer, who had fallen asleep while waiting for his Pokemon to return with help. the Torchic padded over to her trainer and pecked at him, causing the trainer to wake up. "What? Oh, Zea, there you are! Did you find someone?" the trainer asked as her trying to sit up a little. The trainer looked over and spotted the person that his Torchic managed to bring. "Hey, names Tane, what's yours?" Tane asked coolly as if nothing was wrong.

[Virgil]

Virgil followed the Torchic to her trainer, seeing him, and he was sleeping. That was quickly fixed by his Pokemon. He didn’t say anything yet and was going to talk when the other person introduced himself and asked for his name. He looked over at the Torchic for a moment before holding a hand over towards the Axew. He didn’t want her to go charging forward and hugging this person. It wasn’t because of being a stranger. This person might be hurt but he didn’t know where the injury was. Or whatever else the problem was for her trainer. All he knew that her trainer was in some kind of trouble.

“I’m Virgil but most call me, Chance” he said friendly to the other person. “So, Zea is the name for your Torchic? Great name.” He pointed towards his Pokemon. He first pointed towards Axew and then at his Treecko. “These two are my Pokemon. They’re named Rona and Thorn.”

“Axew!”

“Treecko!”

Virgil went quiet after that as he wondered about something. This guy didn’t seem to be talking like he had been hurt at all. He’d best get to the bottom of it. He had introduced himself but he could save the small talk for later.

“Your worried Torchic brought me here. You’re hurt, aren’t you?” he said calmly with a thoughtful look on his face.

Tane smirked as the other talked and introduced his Pokemon, he took notice as Chance mentioned Zea being worried about, his small Pokemon twitched slightly in annoyance, there goes her pride, but then again, Tane knew that while she may have been a very proud Pokemon, she was also quite protective, so it's understandable to see why she should be worried.

"Heh, its nice to meet you, this is Zealot, though I call her Zea for short, and yes, you guessed right, I sent her out to find some help, I got stomped on by a pissed off Rhyhorn and injured my leg." Tane said laughing a bit about having to explain what happened. Torchic glared slightly at her trainer for laughing about such a matter, she received a pat on the head in return for her glare.

"Anyway, think you can help me out?"

[Virgil]

Virgil looked down at Tane’s leg. There was this feeling that Tane wasn’t telling him the entire truth but he would help anyways. The female Torchic was named Zealot. Well, he would just refer to the bird as Zea. It sounded like a much better name. An injured leg would still be a generalization. One wouldn’t know if it was broken or merely banged-up. He was going to help.

“What would you have me do?” he asked in response to Tane’s question. "Just how injured is your leg? Can you stand or is that leg broken?"

Virgil needed to know more about the leg injury at least to be of greater help than helping out blindly.

Tane tried to move his leg, however he didn't get much out of it except some sharp pain, causing him to wince slightly. He couldn't move it, which meant it was most likely broken, then again, a giant rock Pokemon DID just stomp on his shin, so its not like it would be a surprise.

"Well...I'm not an expert, but I think I'm pretty sure its a break." Now what to do about it is the next question...

Tane thought back to when he was in Thundera Town, he recalled having to sit through a talk about what to do in an emergency when out in the wild. One of the topics they mentioned was about what to do if someone breaks a limb

"Hold on, I think I remember something about what to do with a broken leg. Thank Arceus I actually listened for once." Tane said grabbing one his Pokeballs and called out another Pokemon, the Pokemon he sent out was an extremely small, yellow spider Pokemon. The small Pokemon immediately climbed on top of Tane's head, probably to feel a little taller. "Blitz, I need you to use your string shot around my leg to protect it. Blitz nodded and shot out the silky string, coating Tane's leg and formed a strong, sturdy cast around it.

"Thanks, Blitz, that will work fine for now. Alright, I'm gonna need help getting to Gustella Town. Think you can help me walk to there so that I can get some proper care, chance?"

(OOC: I'm SO sorry, this probably makes no since ;; I have no clue how one would actually go about a broken leg, I know no one who ever broke a leg before and the only thing I could find was about wrapping the leg up tightly to protect it from getting more injured)

[Virgil]

Virgil watched Tane as he did what he had just done. So, he first wanted to protect his leg with it being covered by a string-shot. Tane had gotten a makeshift thing for his leg for the time being. That was good. Virgil didn’t really carry anything on his person to help with human injuries. Even more so, he had no experience with a broken leg. This meant less work for him or messing around with something that he had little chance of fixing. It wasn’t in his odds.

“Sure, Tane” he replied calmly as he moved closer to Tane. “Let’s get going then.’

He offered his arm, he would allow for Tane to use him as a crutch for now, and so he waited.

As the duo continued along, two Pokemon appeared before them.

[Tane Flight]

Tane took Virgil's arm and the two continued started down the path towards Gustella town. However as they were walking two small worm-like Pokemon appeared in the middle of the rode, the too Pokemon appeared as if they wanted a fight and did not seem like they would let Tane or Virgil pass unless they battled.

"Dude, Chance. Seems like these Pokemon want to battle us, perfect time for battling don't you think?" Tane said laughing before sending out his third Pokemon, a small blue Totodile. The small Pokemon immediately clung on to Tane and started crying upon noticing the injured leg. "Ack! Now is not the time for clinging on to me, Ken! Use Aqua Jet on the Caterpie!'

The small Pokemon got off of Tane and looked at the small bug for a second. Oh, it was battle time! Ken immediately surrounded himself in water and charged toward the Caterpie with great speed.

[RESULT: 9]

Kan strongly jetted into the Caterpie throwing her back with his attack. "Great hit, Ken!" Tane shouted proudly at his Totodile.

Caterpie: 6/15

[Virgil]

Virgil felt Tane grab onto his arm but he steadied himself. He saw the wild Pokemon come into view.

"Yeah, it is" Virgil replied smoothly.

He looked down and over towards his Axew. There would be a problem if he chose Thorn. Weedle had two type advantages against him. Meanwhile, there was the issue of Rona. Did Rona want to battle? No, he couldn't really think like that. He would have to see about convincing the Weedle into following him but after he showed that he was good enough. There was no other reason for it.

"Rona, you're up!" he called towards Rona.

"Axew!" Rona cried as she jumped in front of Virgil to face off against the weedle.

"Now, use a scratch attack!"

He watched as the small dragon Pokemon charged towards the bug Pokemon, with claws outstretched to deal damage, and so he merely observed.

[RESULT: 9]

Rona: 24/24
Weedle: 6/15

Rona scratched the Weedle hard with her claws, dealing a quite a bit of damage.

The Caterpie didn't look all that well from being hit by the aqua jet attack but it launched itself forward, with its mouth open.

It missed your Totodile completely as it overshot its aim.

[Tane Flight]

Tane watched as the Caterpie completely missed his Pokemon, perfect, Tane might just be able to finish this battle quickly and without his Pokemon taking any damage.

"Alright, Ken, now use your water gun now!" Ken nodded and shot out his attack at the Caterpie.

[RESULT: 4]

The water gun did not do as much against the Caterpie, however it was enough to weaken it severely.

The Weedle cried out in pain as the Axew clawed at him with dangerous claws. Shaking off the blistering pain for the scratch marks that were inflicted on him, the Weedle screeched a battle cry as he charged his enemy with his vicious bug bite

The Weedle's bit did a good amout of damage upon the tiny Axew!

[Virgil]

Virgil winced when he saw Rona get hit by that bug bite attack. She seemed to be fine though and shook off. This was only the beginning.

"Scratch it, Rona!"

[RESULT: 7]

The Weedle went down as his Axew scratched it once more.

The Caterpie looked pretty worn down but it still looked like it could fight. It lunged against for the Totodile that had done so much damage to it. It was aiming to bite down upon the trainer Pokemon.

[RESULT: 0]

It hit this time but didn't get a good enough grip to bite down uopn the Totodile's scales.
