Chanced Start

[Virgil]

Virgil came down the road, as he looked around him, and noticing the buildings around him but that wasn't his main focus. His main focus was the building that was coming up ahead of him. One that he would get his Pokemon from and hopefully start off with a Pokemon that would be his partner. He eventually came to the lab's front door and knocked. He waited patiently for someone to answer it or tell him to come inside. He wasn't going to be barging in and saying something idiotic. He would take his chances with what was given to him.

"I'm here to acquire my Pokemon, professor" he stated politely.

Oh, what was this? Professor turned herself around to stare at the door, somewhat confused. Most people didn't knock anymore... who could this be? Someone more important? Heaving herself from he comfort of her spinny chair, striding forward to turn the knob, blinking in mild surprise as she saw a trainer once the door was opened.

"Oh! Hello there. A pokemon, you say? Good. This way then." Conifer smiled and beckoned for him to come in, making sure to keep a bit of a pace ahead of him. "Oh, and don't worry about closing the door. Ranny is around here somewhere keeping watch." It took them but a minute or so to reach the pen and pedestal, but nevertheless, Conifer cleared her throat and turned around when she was standing beside the starters, turning her attention back to the boy.

"Now, let's see... Trainers and Racers are only allowed one partner, while Breeders and Coordinators are allowed two this time around. Everyone may only take one mystery ball, however. After you choose a pokemon or mystery ball, feel free to take the items here you'll need as well." Crossing her arms, the woman stepped back and gave Virgil some room.

Virgil looked at the various Pokemon in turn. He was looking for one which would have a good potential for the start. He narrowed his choices down as he could only pick two since he was a breeder. He crossed out in his mind, the grass, water, and fire Pokemon. The elimination in his mind left him with only the Magnemite, Trapinch, and one mystery ball. He didn't really think having a Magnemite would be all that useful. He walked towards a mystery ball and picked it up. He then turned around towards the Pokemon out in the open. He would go with something else other than the Trapinch. The best one would be the Treecko.

"I'll take this and the Treecko" he said politely to the Professor. He collected his items taking the second bag and the black pokedex. He gathered the rest of the items that he could get.

Virgil wondered what was inside the mystery ball and so threw the ball up in the air to release whatever was inside.

[Professor Conifer]

What popped out of the mysteryball could be heard the moment it was released. "Axew!" the Axew said excitedly then began running around the room. Axew suddenly got a glimpse of the Treecko that was out as well and proceeded to lovingly tackle into the poor Treecko. "Treecko! Treecko!" the Treecko said, not wanting anything to do with this at all.

With the two starters chosen, along with his equipment, he was free to go. Professor Conifer waved him off and wished him well on his journey.
