"Alright, just keep going at the current pace and we'll win this" Virgil said quickly to the Gorebyss. Becker had apparently put on a great deal of speed with her Milotic. He should be ahead by just enough to cross the finish line first.

He was surprised when the Gorebyss put on a burst of speed again. This creature really wanted to win and well he wanted to win as well. So, why not put up a bunch of speed. It wouldn't matter at the end of the race if they slowed down entirely.

Virgil urged and prodded his Gorebyss a little to finish the last part of the race. There was no turning back. He already saw the finish line and his Gorebyss went as fast as it possibly could to win the race.
[RESULT: 1]
His Pokemon had slowed down. That was no big problem. His partner in this race had done the best that it could.

Virgil accepted the egg and the cherish ball from Becker. He was happy that he had won. He had also acquired the thing that he wanted to get which was the portable PC. And this Cherish ball could help out by storing a Pokemon away. That Mudkip already had a pokeball and so she would be stored away in the PC.
"That was a fun race, Becker. If I'm around the area then I might just want to try it again" he said happily. "Thanks."
He took off everything and re-put on his gear before heading out so that he could return to the surface.
