Overview
We all know how awesome fossil pokemon are. Their typing make them difficult to kill, their stats make them heavy hitters, and most importantly, they are freakin' dinosaurs! Who doesn't like dinosaurs? Dinosaurs are cool.
Because of that, I know practically EVERYONE wants a fossil pokemon of their own. Well, there are five ways to get them, none of them terribly easy.
1. You can start with a fossil by picking the mystery pokemon, though it cannot be guaranteed it is the one you want, if it is a fossil at all. 2. On rare occasions, the Drougtenna Market will sell fossils for 100 pokedollars (¥). These are limited, however, and they don't have every fossil in one sitting. Upon purchase, you must take the fossil to the gym for revival. 3. In the Alchemy Breeding Center, breeders will have a chance to get a Fossil Pokemon egg upon passing the test. 4. If I`m feeling Fossily, I`ll arrange a random event in which you obtain a fossil. See the second to the top post for details on events. 5. You may dig for your own fossils in the mine once Cliff has been defeated or you get a recommendation from Tucker, the head of the Alchemy Breeding Center.
The Mine
After you gain entry into Quakita's mine, you may begin digging if you meet the requirements:
-You must tell Cliff or Tucker and take either Cliff's Rampardos or Tucker's Archeops in with you. -You must travel with an expedition party of at least two characters, up to six, with one being the Expedition Leader and having control of Rampardos or Archeops. - You must have at least one pokemon capable of digging, meaning they have hands or paws and are powerful enough. This doesn't mean they have to know the move Dig. -When Rampardos or Archeops leaves, you leave too.
To dig, simply equip the miner helm and take a shovel or pickaxe, all available at the entrance for public use, and start working. When you post, end it with the A T T A C K command and then see your result. Depending on the number you roll, you may end up with a Fossil, a Gem, or a sellable/exchangeable item. You can also get nothing. The fossil you end up with is randomized.
Depending on the size of the expedition party, you get a certain number of digs per person. Once everyone has reached their maximum dig number the Expedition Leader's guest pokemon, Rampardos or Archeops, will begin leaving the mine, and when they leave, you leave. No exceptions.
2 people - 5 digs each, 4 for leader 3 people - 3 digs each, 2 for leader 4 to 6 people - 2 digs each, 1 for leader
In addition, if you find a fossil, you will be done in the mines for that expedition. You will not be allowed back into the mines until you have either revived it or sold it for ¥75.
Because they need to keep an eye on everyone, Expedition Leaders are limited to one less dig than everyone else. If you volunteer to be Expedition Leader you will be gifted with ¥50. If no one volunteers or multiple people want to lead the same expedition, the Expedition Leader will be randomized and will not be paid.
Digs
When you wish to dig, simply type the A T T A C K command after you make your post and then you will get something depending on your result.
Result = Miss-0: Your dig gives nothing. Result = 1: Uh oh, your shaft is caving in, GET OUTTA THERE! Result = 2-3: Your dig yields a sellable item. Result = 4-7: Your dig yields a random gem. Result = 8-10: You found a Fossil! Your time in the mine is done.
When you are done with your dig, you are to stay with your expedition leader until the last person finishes. You have two days to complete an expedition and after two days, you will be auto-kicked from the mine and forced to continue on your journey. You may go on a maximum of three expeditions a day.
