The world was a much different place through the eyes of one Miss Crystal Killer. Here, there were many scary things that hid behind masks and tried to disguise who they really were and hid their real motives. They would lure you with sweet smiles and innocent charms, then slash you straight through to your heart, feigning the same innocence as if nothing had happened at all. She stood on her guard before these vile beings - these things that attested her so and burned just underneath her fingernails.
She didn't want to leave at first, but she needed to escape. A single solitary tear was shed from her eye, falling upon the ground and soaking itself into the dirt earth before her initial departure. "I can't leave you..." She remembered whispering to her friend - an Umbreon who had been the closest thing she had manged to ever get to. The Umbreon knew what was best though - it stood there silently and shook it's head disapprovingly, pointing towards the only escape they both knew she could take.
It took her a long time to travel from Pulsia Village, though. The trek through the first initial wooded area was hard, until another Trainer had found her. With a promised ride on the strong Trainer's Rapidash's back, she had managed to arrive here in almost no time at all, although there was a small problem initially. The Trainer only laughed at the way Crystal acted, and allowed her to try and venture deeper into the first woods...but they both knew she wouldn't last.
Yes, quickly she accepted the help, and they dashed off. "Go get a starter. And do something with your life!" The Trainer told her. She merely shrugged it off and walked up to the Professor's door, pausing there. She marveled at the strong, solid door that separated her from the Professor, wondering reflectively if it was best to knock or if it was best to just walk in. "Hello.?" She meeped out, as she slowly turned the knob, parting the door away, and opening it. "I'm..I'm a....hmm, an aspiring Breeder?" She said.
She lacked confidence in herself, which could be a bit of a problem. But the confidence would eventually be found - it was just a matter of when it would be found. She stood tentatively at the edge of the door, almost refusing to step over the threshold even though she had the confidence to open the door. Would someone come? Would someone tend to her needs, see her through this small dilemma?

As she waited at the door, a cold wind blew. The wind blew faster and faster, and soon a shadow loomed over Crystal. "Cune." Said a voice. Upon turning around, Crystal would find a Suicune looming over her, and the large blue pokemon walked past her and opened the door, ushering her inside. They walked through a technologically complex lab, filled with computers and buttons of all kinds. The suicune ignored this, however, and went right towards a door in the back of the room. It pushed it open and led Crystal inside. In the center of the room was a medium-sized podium with 9 pokeballs on it, and the Suicune nodded at it before going to a computer, reaching the keyboard with it's ribbon-like tails. After doing some typing, it pressed another button and walked towards the podium while a robotic voice rang out. I AM RANNY, AND I AM A FRIEND OF CONIFER'S. SHE IS OUT TODAY, SO I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEEDS. I WILL OPEN UP SIX OF THE POKEBALLS FOR YOU. AS YOU ARE A BREEDER, YOU MAY TAKE TWO. THREE OF THE POKEBALLS ARE MYSTERY POKEMON, EVEN I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS IN THEM. THEY CAN BE LEGENDARY POKEMON, OR THEY COULD BE MAGIKARP OR CATERPIE. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CHOICES. Said the mechanical voice as Ranny the Suicune sat down. 6 pokemon were lined up in front of the podium, eager for Crystal to pick them.

At first, Crystal felt a little weird standing there. She started to back up, reconsidering the whole goal that she even had in mind, when a sharp gust of wind wrapped around her, billowing from all around her sides. When it first picked up, she didn't really notice it - her hands gripped her sides, and instinctively she began to shiver. But as it grew with more intensity, she had to slowly turn around, spotting a large Suicune. She stared in awe at the wondrous and magnificent Pokemon, and merely followed it along.
As they walked inside of the Laboratory, her eyes marveled at everything. It had many thing that would help the scientists how and days - much more upscale than she imagined, but she contented with the fact that it probably needed all the upgrades that it had. She smiled, walking slowly behind the Suicune, who ushered her into another room. Perhaps if it wasn't a Suicune, she wouldn't have such a cheery disposition.
Then stared at the little Pokemon before her eyes and walked up slowly towards them, reaching out with one hand tentatively. The first one was the Charmander - she held out a hand in friendship towards the little Pokemon, smiling a bright and cheery face. "Is it ok if I interact with them first?" She said, directing her question towards the Suicune. She didn't want to settle with a choice that she made by simply seeing what they were. She wanted her choice to be based off of who they were. After all, her partner would be with her, basically for a lifetime.
If she would be granted such a right, she would move on to Dratini. She loved Dragonite, and it's fearsome and yet beautiful appearance. Plus, she had heard humors of Dragonites who were often lonely - in this case, she could provide a Pokemon that might not always have a better start the best home environment possible. After all, she had a soft spot for the loners, hardly having friends herself.
Then, of course, there was a Totodile. Most of them were pretty cheery little guys - she definitely wanted to see if this one would prove her wrong and be the oddball of the little group. And if he would, what kind of Totodile he could be. Same with Treecko, but only after she would pause to take a good look at the Larvitar.
The last one she would look at would be Snivy. It was the only one she wasn't totally sure about. Something about just seeing it made her think that they wouldn't be very compatible, but she needed just to see it in action just once before she could be sure about it. After all, don't judge a book by it's cover.
And she already knew she was only taking one of these guys. But she would ask for a mystery ball after all of these Pokemon, if that was possible to do. If not, she would go back over the choices and take with her two of the choices. However the dices liked to roll.

The Dratini stared at her, unsure of what to do, while the Totodile sat down and started wailing in fear. Treecko and Larvitar rushed over to comfort their friend and Charmander tilted its head at her. Snivy, watching the entire thing, marched up to Crystal and stood protectively in front of the group, daring Crystal to upset Totodile more. Ranny the Suicune looked on in mild amusement at the scene, and began to type on the computer.
THIS IS WHY MOST TRAINERS WAIT UNTIL AFTER CHOOSING TO INTERACT. JUST F Y I. The computer said while Ranny smirked.

She ignored the computer altogether - she had many words to speak to it about, but her concerns wasn't with a machine and what it thought it could say. Instead, she eyed the little Totodile longingly and reached out for it. "Come here sweety, I want you to join my team. Is that ok with you?" She asked, smiling at the little thing. She didn't mean to upset it, but she could tell that she could most likely help the little guy out.
She had to give the Dratini one last look, though. She knew she was sacrificing her shot at it, but someone else could give it a much better home than she could. No, her focus was on the Totodile. "I wanna choose the Totodile and a mystery Pokeball." She told the 'computer' and the Suicune affirmatively, her heart touched by the longing and the sadness and fear that the Totodile showed. She could relate to it, sort of, because she had many fears as well.
She also like the spunk of the Snivy, but at the same time she hated it. Yeah, she knew that wasn't a Pokemon for her and she was glad she could tell that right off the bat. She walked over tentatively, looking at the three Mystery Balls. Why were there three, and what could they hold? She picked up the first one, but it felt too weird in her hand so she placed it back where it was, pausing. Come on... She thought nervously to herself. Just one...
Then the one in the middle seemed to stick out to her. Maybe it was a slightly lighter purple color of paint that had been used on the ball? Maybe it was a slightly darker and grayer white on the bottom half? Slowly she picked it up, abandoning the one on the right and the one on the left. She pressed the button, tossing it up into the air. But what would come out of the ball?

Totodile stopped crying for a moment and looked at Crystal with teary eyes as it considered her offer. It smiled and ran past its friends, leaping into her arms. Totodile cried on her chest as the pokeball she threw opened up, the pokemon inside taking shape in front of the duo. Totodile felt something on its back and yelped in fear, turning to see a calm, smiling face. The small, yellow puffball continued to smile warmly at Totodile and kept its paw on its shoulder. "Maaa." It's okay. It said comfortingly, staring up at its new trainer and giving Crystal the same, welcoming smile. She smiled sweetly when the Totodile ran to her, jumping into her arms. She quickly swooped him up, wrapping her arms tightly around him and holding the little Alligator against her chest, consoling him with soft, sweet sounds that were just as soft of sweet words, but were also just as typical. The poor little guy, he was probably very nervous and worried - and all of that would have just bottled itself up until it pooled out as a big mess across the floor.
"There now..." She said, smiling at the little guy and lifting it's head up to look at it. The little blue Pokemon's happy face seemed to drop for a moment and she retracted her hand, worried that it might upset him more, but he seemed to only smile brighter and nuzzled against her chest more. She giggled and patted him on the head. "Aiden's suiting for you." She smiled, cuddling the little guy.
Then the Pokeball released another Pokemon as she had to pull her eyes off of the little Totodile to see what would pop out. At first, all she was was wool everywhere, and instinctively her mind flashed the images of Mareep, as she remembered a Herder once traveling through her town with them and Flaaffy. As little blue legs stuck through the puffy, whitish cotton clouds, she smiled and nodded firmly. "Hello there Mareep. You're apart of the team too, huh?"
She would pull an arm apart from the Totodile, who looked at her warily but she only reached down with her nose, tapping it against his. "Shouldn't we invite our new friend to join in on the hug?" She asked him, to which he just nodded and nuzzled her even tighter. The Mareep smiled and climbed up onto the Trainer's lap, placing one hand on the Totodile softly as well as nuzzling the Trainer, pressing close to the both of them. <Mareep Maaa> See, it's ok, isn't it? It chirped away and she giggled cutely at her Pokemon.
She tilted her head back, refusing to unwrap her hands from around her Pokemon though as she held them comfortingly, and thought to herself. After a second, she already had it firmly in her mind. "Medea. I think that's very suiting, as well as I think there is a lot of growing you will be doing within yourself." She explained, as she peered down at the little Sheeply Pokemon before her. "Medea will be your name, ok?"
