Jayne walked up the the, relatively impressive building that was the Varaia Region Pokémon lab, ready to meet the beginnings of his coordinating team. The young Coordinator had been eager to come here ever since deciding on what he would become, wanting to make a statement in new region, one he felt that few were already heading towards the Grand Festival in. Still, it would be a hard, uphill climb before he made it there himself.
Walking up to the front door, he took a deep breathe, steadying himself, before raising one gloved hand. Banging heavily on the door, he let the Professor know he was here. Hopefully, they would answer the door soon. However, Jayne, knowing they might not, took a small book out of one pocket, beginning to read it in order to pass the time until the doors opened.

Professor Conifer opened the door to the lab. When she did, she saw a guy of short stature reading a book infront of the lab. She looked a bit confused at first and blinked several times. Did he knock on the door or could it have been someone else? He seemed so captivated by his book. She took a glance around the immediate area and couldn't see anyone else. It had to be him. Who else could it be? A giant suit of armor? Obviously not. "Ah, another starting out their journey into the world of Pokemon I see. Come with me." she finally said. She grabbed the boy lightly by the arm and guided him into the lab and all the way to the back. As they were walking toward the back, Ranny the Suicune joined them. Ranny eyed the boy for a moment before returning his attention to Professor Conifer and walking beside her. "Cuuune!" Ranny called out. Newcomers were an exciting thing for the Suicune. Professor Conifer finally stopped when they reached the back of the lab. "Before you are six starters you can see. Nearby are three pokeballs that I like to call mysteryballs. All three contain a pokemon, but it's always a surprise just what will come out because it could be absolutely any pokemon in the world. I have seen shiny and unique colored pokemon come from them. I've seen talking pokemon come from them. I've even seen the occassional legendary pokemon come from them." she explained to the short lad.        "Now, trainers only get one but coordinators and breeders get to choose two. Any two. Once you're done choosing, your equipment is over there. Choose a bag and a pokedex." she continued to explain. Finally done, however, she walked off from the new kid and took a seat, waiting for the magic to begin. Ranny sat down next to her, waiting in anticipation as well. When the woman grabbed his arm, Jayne was startled, jarred out of his reading. He nearly threw her as she did, but caught himself just in time, realizing that this must be the professor. She was, interesting, he supposed. Seeing her Suicune, he was amazed, but his attention was quickly dragged back to the Pokémon in front of him. Looking them over, he was curious, wondering which would be best for him to choose as his partner. Hearing the professor say he was allowed two, well, that was interesting.
The different Pokémon all had both pros and cons to them, though, truthfully, there were only two he couldn't chose between. He knew he was going for one of those Mystery Balls, simply because of the chance behind them. It was the other Pokémon he had to make a choice between. Finally, however, he knew which one he wanted. The young fire type was sweet looking, and seemed that it would be a perfect fit with him. "Professor, I'll take the Tepig and one of the mystery balls," he told her, reaching forward to pick up one of the capsule devices holding the unknown second member to his team. Tossing it into the air, the young man waited to see what would happen next, and which Pokémon would come out.

The Tepig seemed very happy to join the young Coordinator. "Te! Tepig!" she said cheerfully and stood next to him. Meanwhile the pokemon emerging from the mysteryball was none other than the basic form of a beloved electric type. "Pi!" he called out then jumped into Jayne's arms, ready to be caught in them. A fiesty looking Pichu ready for a fight was now his second partner. "Well, there you have it. Take care of your teammates. Your equipment is over there and you're free to leave when you're done getting that" she said simply. Pokemon Name: Tepig Gender: Female Pokemon Personality: Hates baths, Likes to play in mud, Will eat just about anything, Happy go lucky, Loves everyone, Cheerful Pokemon Ability: Blaze Pokemon Health: 25 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Tackle, Tail Whip, Heavy Slam  Pokemon Name: Pichu Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Fiesty, Overprotective, Headstrong, Stubborn, Loyal, Shocks anyone that gets near his trainer Pokemon Ability: Static Pokemon Health: 22 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Thundershock, Charm, Tail Whip, Thunderpunch |

Looking at the small electric type that had burst out of the mystery ball, Jayne grinned. A Pichu! Oh, that would be amazing. "It's a pleasure to meet you two, Winry, Maes," he murmured, as the small electric type jumped into his arms. Catching him easy, he grinned at the cute thing. "Thanks Professor. Hope we see each other around someday," he told her, before moving to get his supplies. Grabbing the red Pokédex as well as the one-shoulder backpack, he was ready to get moving on his journey. Storing his team's balls at his waist, as well as the empty ones, he tucked the rest of the supplies from the beginner's box into his backpack before heading on out. |
