Jessa walked to the contest area with confidence, feeling rather good about her luck today. She couldn't lose forever, you know. She took a few deep breaths before holding up her Contest Pass to Nurse Joy. "Jessa Bellafonte, Entering todays contest."

Hiroaki entered the building and went to sign up for the contest he heard was going to happen here today. He showed Nurse Joy his contest pass and was soon signed up. He decided he will use Saraid and Padraic for the appealing part of the contest and Brianna and Yori for the battle. He hopes that he does well on his first contest and went to do some last minute training after he got the time of when the contest will start.

It wasn't fair. It just wasn't freaking fair. Whoever it was that had the bright idea of ALWAYS sticking her first would pay dearly for this. Celeste headbanged the wall repeatedly while Obsidian announced the contest and introduced the concept like always. Sitting on one of the benches, Ming-ming rolled her eyes at her trainers behavior.
"It's not that bad. You always make it through to the battle round anyway, appeals have never been a problem for you." Said the skunk pokemon. Celeste sighed as her name was called and she walked to the door, walking down the hallway with her stunky by her side.
"I know, but still, it would be nice if I could have just a little bit of time before I have to go onstage. I like seeing what I`m up against so that I can at least prepare." She said, waiting at the entrance to the stage. One of her pokeballs wiggled on her belt.
Please relax Celeste. When you are upset, we are upset. Believe in us, we will do our best not to fail you. I promise you this is the truth. Said the Reshiram in her head. Celeste smiled at the pokemon and strode out the door, Ming-ming confused but staying put to watch anyway. Celeste skipped to the stage and greeted the welcoming audience warmly, grabbing her two pokeballs and tossing them up high.
"Ra ra, Reso, it's showtime!" She said as both pokemon erupted from their pokeballs in a shower of bubbles. With a smile, Celeste raised her hands at both pokemon.
"Ra ra, Blue Flare, Reso, use Confusion!" She commanded. Ra ra's tail glowed brightly as it made a whirring sound, and with a roar she unleashed a mighty blue fire stream. Reso's eyes glowed a soft blue as well and he lifted his arms. The fire stream stopped in place immediately and Celeste smiled as he began to manipulate the fire, which was steadily growing as Ra ra continued the attack. Without warning Reso jumped and Ra ra stopped her firebreathing, allowing the gallade to stand atop her nose while he brought the attack downward.
"Ra ra, flamethrower!" Celeste cried. Careful to keep balancing the gallade, Ra ra opened her mouth and fired a red-orange flame upward, binding the flames until it swirled in ribbons around them coloring the two pokemon in multiple rainbows of blues, reds, yellows and purples. With a smirk, Celeste knew she was not done yet and looked up at her gallade.
"Reso, Magical Leaf!" She commanded. The gallade somehow managed to keep concentrating on manipulating the fire ribbons, though Ra ra helped him by twiling them with her tail, and his elbow blades glowed green. Thrusting his arms forward, he fired multiple leaf-shaped green blasts towards the flame, outlining them in blue with his confusion and began to force the magical leaf to twirl with the fire ribbons, adding a green and completing the rainbow that danced across the hides of both pokemon who worked in sync. Reso kept perfect control over the attacks while Ra ra's tail gracefully turned, looking almost like a ribbon dancer with the way the fire ribbons moved about, shifting the colors about which left no part of the two pokemon uncolored, multiple colored patterns dancing and shifting across the hides of Reso and Ra ra.
Soon it was time to end the appeal, and Celeste cleared her throat, holding her hand out drmatically.
"Finish it up!" She commanded. The two pokemon nodded and Ra ra threw the ribbons up with her tail, and Reso made all of the colors split behind them in a peacock's tail, once again outlining the pokemon in a myriad of colors before he brought his hands together, making the ribbons twist into each other and causing them to collapse. The shower of sparkles that resulted rained down on the pokemon in all colors, and all three performers bowed. Celeste thanked the audience and recalled her pokemon, returning backstage to watch her fellow coordinators in action.

Jessa was still feeling rather confident by the time Obsidian called her onstage. She breathed deep and strode out before the crowd with a smile. The marble floor was reflecting the bright sun coming down, which made the young coordinator even more confident. "Axian, Marisoth, Take the stage!"
The Pokeballs she'd tossed into the air burst open, one cloaking the released pokemon in a wreath of flame, the other with a crown of lightning. A Latias and a Misquaza took the stage, both letting out a triumphant cry. "Axian, Start with Twister!"
The Misquaza cried again and slithered to the middle of the stage, spiraling upward into the air as a silvery cyclone began to form in the middle of the stage. It was translucent, and it captured the refracted light from the stone floor. Axian did an aerial loop and settled at the base of the spiraling wind, looking over to Marisoth, who was on the left side of the Twister. Jessa smiled. This was perfect. "Now, Phase 2! Marisoth, use Dragon Claw and spiral up the opposite side from Axian. Axian, do the same with Marisoth using Shadow Claw!"
The two dragons reached out their left paws, Latias' glowing a pale blue and Misquaza's glowing a rich dark purple. They twisted their agile bodies up and around the twister, making streamers of color along the sides. Once they reached the top, their paws collided, mixing the two colored trails behind them. "Now, Axian, Finish it with Shadow Scream!"
Latias went around Misquaza and spiraled down the cyclone with the mixed color streamer. Axian sat atop the colorful twister and shimmered, gathering power for his finishing move. Once Latias broke away from the bottom he let out a terrifying screech as a ring of purple energy cascaded down the twister, breaking it up into multicolored sparkles that coated the two dragons.
Jessa took a bow then, proud that she had accomplished such a feat. It was a good feeling she was left with as she recalled her Pokemon. Her green eyes were sparkling as she left the stage.

Hiroaki watch his two opponents make their appeals and smiled. He was confident about his appeal and he was ready to begin it. So when Obsidian called him to the stage, after Jessa, he was ready to get it done. Once on the stage he toss his two appealing Pokemon's Pokeballs in the air while saying, "Saraid and Padraic your up."
The two Pokemon appeared on the stage with stars surrounding them. Padraic, the Poochyena, used his tail to knock the stars further away as Hiroaki called out, "Alright now Padraic use Howl and Saraid use Whirlpool." The Poochyena smiled and used his Howl at the same time as Saraid, the Clamperl, use Whirlpool and had the two attacks to hit each other, while the stars where between them, and caused the stars to bust to create sparkles on the water as it rained on the two Pokemon.
Hiroaki was glad to see it work out so well and decided to finish it off with another good combination. "Now Padraic get on top of Saraid and Saraid use Aqua Jet," he called out. Padraic jump onto Saraid's top shell and Saraid used Aqua Jet and the transparent water surrounded the two Pokemon as they flew in the air. "Finish this with Aura Sphere Padraic," Hiroaki said. Padraic could be seen opening his mouth as a ball of pure blue energy began to form at his muzzle. Once it was big enough Padraic fired it out and had it hit the front of the Aqua Jet creating a water comet with the two Pokemon still inside before both attack disperse and the two landed, gracefully on the ground.
Hiroaki was so proud of his two Pokemon as the water created more rain around the two of them as they all took a bow to the audience.

Oh, oh, oh. She didn't like this. No, she didn't like this at all! No matter how many times she went up on stage, Luna always suffered from the most horrid stage fright. Back in Sinnoh, her pokemon had been used to it. After all, she had been a coordinator for a long time before following her friend Diana here to the Varaia reason. Back there, they would have either just ignored her fidgeting and nervous glances, or tried to sooth her. She'd had a wigglytuff who had been particularly good at singing her into a trace before contest times. Unfortunately, she'd decided to leave all of her friends behind and start fresh, which meant she had to suffer through her pre contest stage fright, and it also meant that her companions were watching her worriedly, unused to seeing their trainer in such a state.
The girl managed to give them a wobbly smile, crushing the gastly closer to her chest as if doing so would protect her. Good thing the poor guy was a ball of gas already, or he might really have been in trouble. Still, it had to be getting old, as the contest dragged on. And on. And on. Oh, they would have to put her in the bottom of the line up for her first contest in this region!
Finally, though, it was her turn, and she stopped wringing her shirt long enough to stand up and recall everyone into their balls before moving into position. Waiting on the sidelines for the person before her to finish, she checked and rechecked the stickers on the two she had chosen to help her with her debut. When there was nothing left to check, she stood there and fidgeted and worried her lip, until finally the spotlight was on her. Time to get started.
She took her spot on the stage and held perfectly still for a moment before tossing her two chosen pokeballs into the air, where they burst open amid a shower of confetti. Two tiny forms appeared amidst the shower. One, the bulkier of the two ironically, landed gracefully in the middle of the stage. The snivy stood for a moment and watched his companion come towards the ground. The torchic was not quite so good as his counterpart, for he landed and promptly faceplanted. Both Luna and Kaa slapped a hand across their faces. Darzee, however, simply popped back up and looked around himself as if he'd meant to do that all along. It came with being clumsy all the time, Luna supposed. It became natural to not notice. So she tried to do as the little bird did and took it in stride.
"Alright guys, let's get started. Darzee, give me a nice big rock slide!" The little torchic puffed up, puffed out his cheeks, and an intense look of concentration passed over his face before the ground began to rumble. Above the center of the stage, well out of the way of anyone, rocks began to form in the air and one by one fell to the ground until the stage was littered with boulders of every shape and size. It really was amazing what such a little pokemon could do.
Luna turned to the snivy. "You're turn, Kaa. Use a twister for me." The snivy nodded seriously and turned to the boulders, a strong wind whipping across the stage. Small tornadoes began to form, lifting up some of the boulders and depositing them in not so random spots. Three in particular fell right on top of each other, each marginally smaller than the one below it. When everything was situated to his liking, he glanced back at his trainer.
"Alright. Kaa, use magic leaf! Darzee, flame burst!"
The two sent their attacks flying high into the air, where they collided and the leaves instantly began to burn hot and fast. The disintegrated in seconds, becoming a powdery white ash that began to filter down through the air like snow. Soon, the entire stage was covered in the stuff, and where there had once been rocks and boulders, there were now what appeared to be snow drifts and little poles of snow just perfect for playing in.
And there, in the center of it all, was a large, fluffy snowman, just waiting to be decorated.
Luna smiled a bit to herself. That had worked out well, she thought, watching as her pokemon ran forward, Darzee plucking out some of the small rocks, and Kaa tossing out a few more leaves so that within moments of becoming a snowman, it was fully decorated. The two were having so much fun that she eventually had to call them back to her side and remind them to bow. Giving a little wave to the judges and audience, Luna turned and scurried off the stage, her companions following reluctantly behind.

It was time.
Even though Vero had been oohing, aahing, and turned sparkly-eyed at the events - most of them had been rather shiny and sparkly, after all - he puffed up and strode out to the arch that led to the stage confidently when his name was called. Ah, finally! It had been too long since he was able to perform for his fabulous fans! Turning around, he made his way to another part of the stage, waiting until the crowd got quiet before he leapt out from seemingly nowhere, rolling onto his platform and jumping up in resemblance to a jack-in-the-box. Atop his head was a huge crown of feathers, fake-gold lining them as well as decorating his ears with massive clip-on earrings. Overall, the young man was dressed to resemble some sort of ancient warrior, body paint replacing his shirt and all sorts of other things adorning his body to complete the outfit. As he threw out his arms to greet the audience, two pokeballs flew from his wrists, one landing on either side of him before releasing the creatures inside. Two plumes of fire burst from the seals and shrouded the pokemon for but a moment, creating pillars before dissolving.
A Sableye and green Growlithe stood in their wake, Quantez snickering and hunkering down to reveal the gems on his back, Sonrei throwing her head back to howl. Vero giggled and did a quick turn, pointing towards the open stage with a huge grin on his face. "Now, time to turn up the heat, darlings! It's such a sunny day, but alas, we need to get these people on the edge of their seats with a little Vero flair!" Eagerly, the two pokemon rushed out onto the scene, taking their places in preparation for the appeal. Sonrei stood back and near the middle while Quantez began hopping from foot to foot, weaving his arms around hypnotically. Before Vero could command the first move, a reddish darkness had already started to take over the scene, spreading out and away from the dual-type. "Good, Quantez. Finish up your Night Shade so things can move on!" he called enthusiastically, mirroring his pokemon's dance as the darkness consumed the stadium. The atmosphere became almost wiggly as it took over, as if a wave of heat had accompanied the transformation. Sonrei paced around in a circle, baring her fangs at the crowd whenever they looked at her. It was just an act for the most part - simply another cog in the machine.
"It's your time to shine, ReiRei! Dragon Rage like we practiced!" With a yip, said pokemon braced herself and pulled her head back, firing off multiple purpley-orange balls into the sky. Several puffed out into thin air before Vero directed attention to Quantez once more. "Manipulate them into a circle around Sonrei, love!" Each time a new ball of fire was shot off after that, the Sableye took control and positioned them into an ever-moving ring of fire around the Emerald Growlithe. In time there were at least ten wisps floating, a dark red tinge around them thanks to the Night Shade. The coordinator smirked as Sonrei continued to growl, putting on her intimidation act nicely. "Alright; use Foresight, Tezzy!"
Suddenly, the purple imp's eyes began to glow a reddish color, blue licking at the sides as he lifted his hands higher, making the balls of flame jump up and down spaztically before focusing on Sonrei. Massive blue tendrils shot out from her body, and her entire form seemed to expand and transform as the oddly-colored light swarmed her, a giant ancient beast cloaking the Growlithe, yet she was still quite visible under the trick's surface. Whenever she moved, it moved, and she immediately began jumping all over the place, the firey ring creating hoops that she and the doggish beast around her leapt through. In a moment's time she snapped her fangs, the dog-like creature following suit, the aura melding together like plasma around it's muzzle as it did so.
"Finish it up! Position the fire before using Roar!" Vero commanded, Quantez's teeth gleaming in the dark light of the stage. Several of the flames went to create a necklace of sorts around the aura over Sonrei while others danced around her in a trance, the Growlithe tossing her head back one final time before letting loose a deep, vicious roar that reverberated across the marble stadium. Immediately the Night Shade's darkness rippled and the fire fwooshed past her body, the flames colliding with each other and canceling themselves out in a melded explosion of orange, purple, and red. Even the blueish aura of Foresight around her blipped out of existance, simply disappearing and adding a cool effect to the overall 'heat' of the performance. Another moment later and daylight returned to the scene, Vero rushing out to pick up and carry the exhausted Sableye before bowing to the crowd. His appeal was over, and he took off his crown of feathers and thew it to the audience before heading for the backstage. How would he do? Pokemon Used: Sonrei (Emerald Growlithe) Quantez (Sableye) Moves Used: Night Shade Dragon Rage Foresight Roar

The appeals soon ended and the judges began to discuss the results among each other. Celeste and the other coordinators waited in their room, staring at the screen expectantly. Suddenly, after a relatively short time, Obsidian came back onscreen.
"We have just been informed that a runaway groudon from Sandstra is on it's way here, and it is not happy. Due to the sudden time constraint, we are going to be a little unorthodox. The judges were only able to choose 4 people right away, so to get the contest over quickly, the following four coordinators are going to team up for a double battle!" She said, pointing to the screen. The pictures of Vero, Luna, Celeste, and Jessa appeared on screen.
"Coordinators, please hurry onstage and call out your pokemon! We must hurry so that we can bunker while the gym leaders deal with the threat." She said. Celeste was shocked at first, but she quickly ran from the waiting room along with the other 3 coordinators and rushed to one side of the stage, taking out a pokeball.
"Hurry Pendra! Let's go!" She called, the wheel-shaped bug appearing and revving to go. Celeste inwardly hoped that her partner would be able to work with her choice.

Jessa pulled out a Pokeball that contained a Pokemon who had never seen the contest stage. She hoped it wouldn't mess with Celeste's stride. "Fido, Come on out my darling!"
The ball popped open to reveal a husky looking Squirtle, raring for action. "Squortle!" He ran around in a circle a few times, feeling pumped up! There were so many people with their eyes on him. He wouldn't let his partner down!

When the announcer's voice returned, Vero wasn't expecting to hear something concerning travesty. Such a thing to happen after his wonderful display? Balderdash! However, the rampant Groudon sent his eyebrows raising and hands clutching together near his heart, an audible dramatic grasp sounding afterward. Who would dare upset such a pokemon, or any pokemon for that matter?! He'd heard word of one of those ragtag bad-guy teams running around, but luckily, he hadn't actually had a run-in with them yet. Shaking his head, Vero ignored the fact that he was the first picture to appear on the screen and rushed onto the battlefield, obviously taking the opposite side from the two girls already assembled.
"Evening, ladies" he said, bowing slightly and flipping his hair from his face. "Let's see how our babies dance together with a new purpose in tow!" Oh, he was focused on a quick battle alright, but since he was waiting for his partner to arrive, there was room for introductions. "Gypsy, love, let's go!" And after that, he tossed a ball into the air, a lithe, bright green Snivy dropped to the ground, landing with her feet crossed and arms thrown out to the sides in a bow, lifting her head with a huff when she examined her opponents. Well, she knew which one she was going after.
Luna didn't mean to be the last one to the arena, honest! Besides, it didn't look like she'd missed much, which ultimately made her decision to take a moment and figure out a battle strategy all the better. As she took her place beside Vero, she smiled softly in greeting, but said nothing. Analyzing the group and types around her, she clicked her tongue and plucked a pokeball from her belt, tossing it out onto the battlefield.
"Let's do this, Hathi!" she called, feeling a smidge of pride as her Deino stood tall against the crowd. She and Vero exchanged a glance before the girl looked knowingly at her pokemon and motioned to their opponents. "Use Screech, please." Hathi tilted his head, but nodded, bracing himself as an ear-splitting shriek erupted from his jaws. Vero had to yell over the sound to get Gypsy's attention.
[RESULT: 6] +2 to Gypsy & Hathi's attacks
"Magical Leaf on that Squirtle!" he said, the Snivy cirping before spinning and sending an array of rainbow leaves darting towards Fido, the foliage cutting through the soundwaves in a bizzare, interesting fashion.
[RESULT: 2] +2 +1 Super-effective Pendra: 28/28 Fido: 20/25 Gypsy: 24/24 Hathi: 24/24

Celeste watched with mild irritation at the fate that befell her partner, and she looked at her opponents with a fire in her eyes.
"Two can play at that game. Pendra, you use screech too!" She commanded. Bouncing up into the air to spin her wheel-like casing, Pendra's eyes from in her shell glared before a shrill scream emerged from within her, blasting the field.
[RESULT: Miss]
However, before the soundwaves could hit the opposing team, Pendra's spinning got hitched and she fell on her side, coughing coming from within the shell.

Poor Fido! He was getting bombarded by raucous sound waves and stinging leaves. He wanted to just retreat into his shell, but his trainer would not let him give up. "Use Aqua Jet on Hathi, Fido!"
Fido gave a husky bark and surrounded himself with a powerful stream of water. He blasted forward at full speed, head aimed at Hathi. He hoped this would do something..It was a decent hit! It did a good amount of damage, despite resistance.
