Nick had the benefit of heading to Dust Town via flying pokemon. One of the perks of his mom working in the local pokecenter of where he lived was that she got to know some trainers. This one in particular had a sturdy Pidgeot that could fly her and Nick. When the Pidgeot finally landed in Dust Town, Nick quickly jumped off the pokemon's back.
"Wow! That was amazing! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" Nick started talking faster and faster and faster as the excitement overcame him. He got to start his pokemon journey flying on a pokemon! Now he was here in Dust Town where he'd get his very own pokemon. He was excited and couldn't wait to see which pokemon were up for grabs. He heard from many trainers that it was a pretty wide variety. Just which would be his? He couldn't wait!
The trainer that brought him to Dust Town bid him a farewell after getting in a quick laugh at his reaction to riding on Pidgeot. After she left, Nick ran to the door of the pokemon lab. He knocked a couple of times, but once he figured out the door wasn't locked, he simply entered in. "Hello? Professor Pokemon Giver Lady? I'm a trainer come here to start my adventure!" Even though he didn't immediately give a response back, the ever active Nick already started a conversation. Too often his mouth would run just as much as his feet would.

Conifer may have had an easy morning, but the afternoon was proving to be hellacious. Work was piling up out of nowhere, and when a trainer started to knock at her door, all she could do was yank it open and drag Nick in before giving him a very brief intro and shoving him gently towards the pokemon.
"One for trainers, two for breeders and coordinators! One mystery ball per person, and no going back once you've chosen! Good luck!"

"Only one! Gotcha. Hm. What to choose?" He began looking over the starter pokemon line up, noting the mystery balls that the Professor mentioned. "Wow. What a line up. And some mysteries to boot! Hm. I could end up with literally anything. Wow. Well let's see. Tough decision. I'll take the Dratini though!" Nick kept rambling on before finally making his decision.
"Dratini will be fun. Dragon pokemon are fun. I am from Thundera City, ya know? Dratini would be useful against electric types. Plus it's Dratini, a dragon type pokemon!" Yup, still rambling on. He finally fell silent, however. Though it was already obvious Nick would be a handful as a trainer and running around and traveling about certainly suited his personality.

Professor Conifer flashed him a quick grin before motioning towards some pokedexes, bags, and items. "Good choice. Now, go ahead and choose a bag and 'dex of your liking, and some items. I wish you the best on your journey!" she offered. Dratini cried out in joy and slithered over to Nick, puffing himself out in pride before making his way towards the door. Not one to wait, was he?

Nick watched as Dratini started slithering toward the door. "Whoawhoawhoa! Not just yet! I have to get my stuff, then we can leave! I swear, some are just so impatient!" Nick called his Dratini back over, rubbing his chin when the pokemon slithered up and coiled lightly around his neck. "What to call you? Hm. Drake! We'll call you Drake. How do you like that, Drake?" Nick asked as he looked over to face the pokemon curled lightly around his neck.
The Dratini looked over at him and responded with "Dratini!" agreeing with the name given to him. Nick nodded slowly in response. "Drake it is. Well, let me get my equipment and we're out of here!" Nick skipped over to choose a bag first. His bag design had two straps on it. He then took a red colored pokedex and gathered up all his items and placed them all in his bag.
He put his arms in the straps of his backpack and waved a goodbye the the Professor before heading out. Now the real fun would begin with him and Drake. There was no telling what adventures these two would find, but Nick felt ready for anything. He was riding cloud nine as far as he was concerned. He rushed out the lab and once he was outside, he ran toward Route 801 at full speed. Drake had to tighten his grip a little around the boy's neck just so he could hang on. Man oh man was this kid a fast runner!

Tyler was starting the journey of a thousand steps today. He had a little notepad in on hand, held closely against the side of his body. He wondered how this little trip would go. Would it be boring, like he thought, or would it actually be worth while. He looked at the map that he picked up a little while ago and tracked his position. He was in Dust Town, he knew that much. Now all he had to do was find the lab and grab his starter.
As he put the map down, he looked around to see who he could ask to get directions. Just then, he was past by another male, rushing in the opposite direction. The kid ran out of a large building. After a few stunned blinks, Tyler shook his head and shrugged, walking towards there.
"Hello," he called as he approached the door. "I was wondering if you had anymore starters to choose from.

As one trainer left, another entered. The Professor really shouldn't have been surprised. It happened all too often. "Come in, come in!" she beckoned the newcomer to the back where she was with the starter pokemon and equipment for new trainers. "I'm back here." she continued, making sure he could find where she was at.
"Trainers get one starter, coordinators and breeders get two. Choose wisely!" she said, pointing out where the starters were. Most were obvious, but there were still three mystery balls remaining. The trainer before this one hand't chosen one, opting for the Dratini instead. So that still left all three mystery balls for someone to choose from.
"Once you've chosen, your equipment is over there." she continued to point out, making sure the new comer understood. Once she was done speaking, she took a seat nearby. Ranny the Suicune came to her side and let out a bark. "Cune!"

Tyler wasn't sure which he would go with. The possibilities were literally endless. He could go for the Torchic or Chimchar. Their evolution would be useful in this trip. As far as he knew, at least. Then, there was Trapinch. Flygon was his favorite dragon type that he read about.
And then, he looked down at the Mystery Balls. Sure, he only had one choice and one chance. But, he had over three hundred outcomes. He was anxious to pick the Mystery Ball, since his hand kept reaching for it. But, the Trapinch was a sure thing. He would have a Flygon in a small amount of time depending on how often he trained it.
Screw it, there was no time for second thought. He grabbed the Mystery Ball and tossed it. "And what is inside ball number one," he asked himself. He just hoped he wouldn't regret his choice.

It wasn't the Ground/Dragon type pokemon Tyler was just thinking about moments ago, but it seemed the mystery ball understood what the trainer had been thinking. Out from the ball popped a different Dragon/Ground combination pokemon in the form of Gible. "Gible!" the pokemon exclaimed when he was released from the mystery ball. He surveyed his surroundings quickly, looking this way and that. He finally spotted his trainer, Tyler, and waddled over toward him as quickly as his short little legs could take him. The Professor couldn't help but chuckle in amusement at the sight of the pokemon taking such purposeful steps. Though she did raise an eyebrow, noting this Gible's coloring was slightly a slightly different shade of blue than a usual Gible. But the coloring seemed to fit him as he seemed like he'd be quite a lively little fellow. "Well there you have it! Gible is your starter. Treat him well!" She stated. She then turned her head to look over toward the equipment for the trainer. "Choose a bag and take your equipment, then you can start your adventure." Pokemon Name: Gible Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Fierce, Tough Guy attitude, Protective, Territorial, Always hungry, Chews on just about anything. Pokemon Ability: Sand Veil Pokemon Health: 25 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Tackle, Sand Attack, Mud Shot

Tyler blinked, seeing the Gible come out of the Mystery Ball. His jaw dropped in surprise as a slow but loud gasp escaped his lips. "You are so cute!" He bent down to cuddle the little dragon type as it waddled over towards him. Looking around, after the professor mentioned starting equipment, he walked over to the table and grabbed the bag he preferred and took the blue pokedex to match his Gible's color. - - - "Well, little guy," he started. "We've got a long trip ahead of us. Let's make the best of it." He still had a lot to learn however. And he was hoping it would be enjoyable.

Amy walked into the lab silently. She eyed the scene, noticing the pokemon, the mystery balls, the backpacks, pokedex, equipment, and the person there at the moment. She didn't need any instructions, she had already figured that out in her head. She nodded at the professor in greeting and pointed at a mystery ball, as if asking permission.

Professor Conifer gave a curt nod at the girl before turning back to her research. Ranny the Suicune nudged the pokeball towards her, urging her to pick it up.

Amy's blank eyes showed the emotion of surprise at the Suicune. Soon, though, it faded. She nodded and prepared to throw the ball. She was wishing for the right pokemon for her, of mystery and perhaps elegance. After a moment she closed her eyes and tossed the ball gently.

The pokeball quickly burst open, the beam of white light swirling and taking form in front of Amy slowly. When the light faded, a small, bluish-gray cat looked up at Amy with confident eyes. "Gla." Hello. It meowed at her, standing up and walking to weave in between her leggs, showing it's approval of it's new trainer. Amy gave a soft smile and pet the Glameow on the head,"....Your name is Glammer," she said to it in a quiet whisper. She thanked the professor and the suicune. Then, she walked over qand took her equipment, a purse/backpack, a black pokedex, and whatever else. She waved and took her Glameow out of the lab to start her journey.
