Alec walked up to the rather large lab, a little apprehensively. He was very exited, of course, but now that he was finally about to begin his journey, he was also a little nervous. He had just gotten off the boat a few hours ago, and had made straight for dust town, and the lab. He walked up to the door and knocked a few times, hoping Professor Conifer wasn't too busy, and that she hadn't already run out of starters.

After days of traveling down the old and dusty trail leading to Dust Town, Kage had finally managed to arrive at his destination, Professor Conifer's Pokemon. There, he was going to receive his first Pokemon and begin his journey as a Pokemon Trainer. However, he wasn't the only one there hoping to meet with the Professor. Taking in a deep breath, he nodded at the stranger and greeted him with a friendly smile. "Hey, I'm Kage." He introduced himself. Normally, he wouldn't have been that welcoming toward a stranger, but he figured that he would at least try become more sociable.

Alec saw the older boy walk up to him. "I'm Alec. Nice to meet you." He said, a little nervously. He really hated meeting new people, and although the fact that he had said hello first helped, he was still pretty shy. "I'm assuming your here for your first pokemon too." He said, trying to make conversations. Even if he was shy, he didn't want to be rude and not say anything.

"Likewise Alec," he replied with a half smile. So far, showing a little kindness didn't cause any trouble. Maybe, he should try being more welcoming after all. "Yeah, I'm here to pick up my first Pokemon. I know, I'm probably a little older than most trainers, but better late than never right?" He added with a soft chuckle. He then gave the door a few quick taps. "Umm, anyone in there?" He asked out curiously.

The door stayed firmly closed, but a cool wind blew the two boys closer to it. The wind blew harder and harder until a light blue and purple form appeared in the distance, making its way towards them. With a single leap, the pokemon landed in front of them and turned to them with a stern eye. "Cune!" Barked the suicune. From atop its back, a black-haired woman popped up from the mane, looking at the boys with a sort of panicked expression. "Oh my gosh, we are so late. I`m sorry guys. Come alone, Ranny and I have your pokemon." She said, sliding off the suicune's back and opening the door. The four made their way through the blinking lights and various beeping sounds in the lab all the way to the back of the room, where a door stood closed. The woman quickly opened it and led the party into the room, where a podium stood in the center. The suicune quickly walked over to it and shook it's mane, several pokeballs falling out. One by one, the woman picked them up and put them on the podium, opening 6 of the 9 pokeballs. "Suicune." Said the pokemon as it walked behind the podium, kicking a crate until it opened and spilled it's contents. "Thank you Ranny. Now then, my name is Professor Conifer, and this is my friend Ranny. Now, how about I skip the 'welcome to the world of pokemon' spiel so we can get right to the fun part? Trainers may choose only one pokemon, but breeders and coordinators can have two. You may choose any of these six pokemon OR a mystery pokeball. The mystery pokeball can contain ANY pokemon within it, except for evolved ones. I have seen people walk out with magikarp and caterpie, and I have seen people walk out with a dialga and mewtwo. Once you choose the mystery pokeball and open it, it is yours forever and there is no going back. Choose wisely." She said, stepping away from the podium to stand next to Ranny the Suicune. The 6 revealed pokemon lined up in front of the podium with the mystery balls on it, each hoping to get picked above the others.

Alec was startled slightly by the sudden appearance of the legendary pokemon suicune, but relaxed when professor Conifer introduced herself. When the pokemon were revealed, he faced a bit of indecision.. They seemed to all be very good choices, but the mystery balls had his attention too. In the end, however, he decided to go for the pokemon that had interested him the most. "I'd like Larvitar please." He said to professor Conifer, looking down at the rock and ground type.

All of a sudden Kage's entire body started to shiver, feeling the cool breeze rubbing against his tanned skin. Shielding his eyes from the strong wind, he quickly place his muscular arms in front of his face, not taking them down into the cold wind faded out. Opening his eyes, his dark eyes quickly catch sight of a beautiful and majestic beast standing in front of him "Suicune..." He spoke, more to himself than to anyone else around him. If that wasn't enough a dark-haired woman soon revealed herself from behind the beast. She seem to have been in a panic mode, which caused Kage to chuck softly.
He followed them into the laboratory, carefully scanning around the place before focusing him attention onto the Professor. "Hello Professor. I'm Kage from Ecli City. I'm here to start my journey as a Pokemon Trainer, and later hope to become a Gym Leader or an Elite Four member that specializes in Dragon and Dark type Pokemon." He stated giving her a little information about him.
After introducing himself, he quickly scanned over the Pokemon that stood in front of him, and within seconds his eyes focused on the Larvitar. Perfect, a Pokemon that would eventually evolve into a Dark/Ground type Pokemon that would also have similar characteristics to a Dragon. He flashed a tiny smile to little Rock/Ground type, however, his smile soon faded after hearing Alec claim the little Pokemon. "Darn, I should have shown up here earlier!" He thought to himself, feeling a little disappointed that he missed his chance of owning the Pokemon that he wanted. He sighed softly, then glanced over at the remaining Pokemon, trying his best to flash them a half smile. He didn't want it to seem like he wasn't too interested in them, but they didn't fit his criteria. Charmander and Snivy would be his closely choice...But he really wasn't that interested in them. Oh yeah the mystery ball. Maybe one of them would contain a Dark and Dragon Pokemon for him. Walking toward the mystery ball resting in the middle, he quickly grabbed it and tossed it into the air, catching the Pokeball as he returned back to his hand. "Come on out!" He stood their waiting for the mystery Pokemon to reveal itself.

And then Adilene was there. Of course she just didn't mysteriously appear right in the middle of the lab; that would be extremely silly and illogical. No, no, she was approaching the lab from the route that led to Dust Town. Her parents did not approve of her just traveling about on her own, and so, had managed to convince a trainer passing through to guide her to Dust Town...for a little price, of course.
He had done his job amicably so far, and so Adilene had been pleasant to him, if only to keep up appearances. Someday, she would certainly be the one in charge of her mother's business, after all; a business that stretched from Droughtenna to...well, she wasn't sure, but it stretched far and wide. But then wasn't the time for those thoughts.
"Stay out here. I shall be going inside; it isn't as if anything too bad could happen in here, anyway," she said to the trainer, and before he could say a word in reply to her, she walked past him and inside the building.
Adilene made her way through the room and to the door in the back, which she promptly opened much like the professor had just a little while earlier; she noted the Suicune before letting her gaze look over the others. Interesting to see a legendary pokemon here, even if they were more common than in any other region, they were still rare. "I suppose these two boys came before me, and are picking pokemon?" the eleven year old questioned as she stepped forward.
"Might I choose a surprise?" she asked, obviously referring to the mystery pokemon that people had an option of choosing. Her dad had told her about it and how the whole thing worked when she had expressed an interest one day.
"Ah, and my name. It is Adilene." she said politely to them all before she finished speaking, for the moment, at least.

Professor Conifer smiled at the newcomer and nodded, gesturing towards the remaining mystery pokeballs. "Go on ahead and throw one dear. Your partner awaits." She said as the larvitar moved to stand by his trainer while the pokeball Kage picked burst open. The light that emerged from the pokeball twisted and expanded as it took shape. When the light finally faded, the pokemon that was within looked Kage sternly in the eye, almost glaring. It looked him over up and down before crossing it's arms, snorting approvingly. "Yep, you'll do. I am a druddigon, but as my Trainer, you have the right to name me something else. So, let's hear it. Who am I?" Said the blue and red dragon, getting right to the point as he held out a claw. "Go on take it, my ability only works when I want it to." He said sharply. Pokemon Name: Larvitar Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Quiet, Calculating, Swift Pokemon Ability: Guts Pokemon Health: 23 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: AncientPower, Bite, Leer, Sandstorm Pokemon Name: Druddigon Gender: Male Pokemon Personality: Snarky, Arrogant, Loyal Pokemon Ability: Rough Skin *talks* Pokemon Health: 37 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Metal Claw, Leer, Scratch, Hone Claws, Faint Attack

So, it seemed that one boy had chosen to go for the mystery pokemon, while the other had simply gone for one of the pokemon standing around. Truth be told, Adilene did find them adorable, but that...that was not going to be winning her any battles. Besides that, three out of the five remaining starters were grass-types, and she didn't really mesh well with them. Eyeing the talking Druddigon suspiciously, because talking pokemon was a bit weird to her, the girl approached one of the remaining mystery pokeballs and grabbed it, then tossed it forward, catching it once it released the mysterious pokemon it contained.
"Don't let it be a Magikarp or Caterpie." she muttered to herself.

The light that emitted from the pokebal as it burst open spiraled around the girl quickly, bending into a sphere that began to take shape. Soon, in front of her face, a small, purple pokemon appeared. Opening it's eyes slowly, the small pokemon looked at it's new trainer carefully with multi-colored eyes, head tilting every so often. "Shup?" It said quietly, inching forward slightly and poking Adilene's nose with it's tongue as if trying to make friends. Pokemon Name: Shuppet Gender: Female Pokemon Personality: Quiet, Shy, Cuddly Pokemon Ability: Cursed Body Pokemon Health: 25 Pokemon Level: 5 Move Roster: Knock Off, Screech, Pursuit

A Shuppet. Not exactly the type of pokemon you'd expect a young girl to like, owing to its evolution and the dex entries surrounding it, not to mention its ghost typing, but Adilene definitely liked the little creature. "Well hello there," she said happily after it had poked her nose with its tongue. With a smile, the girl patted the ghost on the head, and it seemed to enjoy that, judging by the content noises it was making. "Your name...hrm, I'm thinking Nyx."
"Thank you, Professor Confier." Adilene said gratefully to the professor, trying her best to look professional despite the Shuppet that was now rubbing its cheek against hers.

"The black one, I think...and the last bag,"[/b] Adilene said dutifully to herself as she picked up said objects. She made sure she had a strong grip on the bag before turning to Confier.
"Again, thank you. I think...I'm going to look forward to this." Adilene said to the professor kindly, before she departed, the Shuppet sticking close to her as she departed.

Kage dark eyes quickly widen as they explored the rough, blue and red body of the might Dragon Pokemon standing in front of him. However, that wasn't the only surprised for Kage today, because this Pokemon also seem to have gifted with the ability to speak the human language. Another smile soon crossed his lips, watching the Druddigon's reaction to him. The Dragon Pokemon seem to have been pleased with him, and the Druddigon obviously have his approval. "I'm Kage and It's nice to meet you Druddigon, from now on your name will be Carve. It means rough and rugged." He added as he touched the Pokemon's sharp claw, giving it a friendly shake. After greeting his Pokemon soon walked over to grab a Pokebex and a backpack of his choice.
